Paying Rent

Under the terms of your tenancy with Arbour Housing you have an obligation to pay your rent, rates and service charge (if applicable) every week.

You must make every effort to pay your rent regularly, respond to any letters or visits from staff and provide accurate information to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive so that they can correctly process your Housing Benefit claim (if appropriate).

There are a number of options available to pay your rent.

Direct Debit

This is the preferred method for paying your rent. It provides you with a convenient, secure and reliable method of paying your rent regularly. The scheme is protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. By signing a Direct Debit Mandate for payment of rent, you are giving your bank or building society permission to allow payments to be debited from your account and transferred to Arbour Housing.

When your direct debit is set up, we will advise you when your first payment will be due and how much the payment will be. If your rent charge changes we will amend your payment amount and advise you of change before it occurs.

You can chose to have your payments collected:

  • Weekly
  • Fortnightly
  • 4 Weekly
  • Monthly
